How do you know...

...if a friendship is over? When they stop talking to you all together? Or when they finally only talk to you in basic pleasantries? How do you know if it's worth fighting for? When there's a rift and you thought it was repaired, what do you do when the chasm seems to still exist? Addressing these questions has become the preoccupation of my thoughts and prayers lately. I'm just not sure how to proceed.

I have posted several times about the gradual evolution or de-evolution of a friendship. It's horribly slow and grey isn't it. When is it dead? When is it not worth worrying about? When do you grasp for it back. I don't know either but if you figure it out let me know!

Any friend you love is worth fighting for. Things to think about: How have you reached out to your friend? How has your friend responded when you reached out? What caused the rift? How was it mended? What steps have been taken to rebuild trust? What value does your friend add to your life? Is this a worthwhile relationship you want to continue? If so, have you had a heart to heart with your friend to let him/her know how you feel?
