Disappointment

It took some time away to decide to let God back into my heart, to trust him in spite of the fact that I have absolutely no idea why he would do this. For all I know he may even do this again. But because I know what is true about him regardless of my current feelings, I choose to believe in spite of my disappointment with God.

Amanda, I understand and share your hurt (at least from the man's point of view). I'm still sometimes wrestling with the why of the miscarriage before Hannah... and we've had two after Hannah. More than once I've wrestled with why God would breathe life back into His Son, but He wouldn't for mine. You're really right in that it comes down to trust. Do we trust that God really does have our best in mind when He allows things into our lives? It doesn't cause the pain of the loss to go away, but trusting in His best does provide comfort, and healing. When you're feeling up to it (it took me months to accept these truths as they related to miscarriages) look at Isaiah 55:8-9 and Ps 115:3. They provide comfort that God knew that these miscarriages (your's and Beth's) would hurt, but somehow, someway He also knows that it is ultimately for our good.

We're Praying
